Job Description
Nashoba Learning Group provides community based vocational services for individuals’ ages 14 years and older diagnosed with Autism. NLG is seeking a hard working candidate for a full-time Job Developer in our growing Employment Program. 
 
The Job Developer will be responsible for identifying work opportunities in the community that match each individual’s skills, interests and experience.  Work opportunities will include both volunteer placements and meaningful paid job placements. The person in this role will work alongside staff in the Vocational Department, and will report to the Executive Director of Employment Services. Candidate should be dependable, outgoing, energetic, enjoy meeting new people and be able to confidently present NLG’s program objectives. Candidate with strong business and community engagement background preferred.
 
Duties include:
  • Conduct vocational assessments and facilitate career planning with TEAM.
  • Establish partnerships with potential employers and identify placement opportunities for NLG’s individuals.
  • Develop and strengthen community connections through local networking groups.
  • Work with employers to create work plans within their company that match Individuals’ interest, skills and experience.
  • Prepare individuals for application process by providing guidance through interest inventories, resume writing, completing job application forms and interview skills.
  • Develop a job coaching/support plan when a placement is secured, with the support of employment coordinator.
  • Monitor employer partnerships by conducting reviews.
  • Document all contacts and complete all follow-up activity.
  • Work with Executive Director of Employment Services to enhance vocational training curriculum.
  • Work with Executive Director of Employment Services to explore and create additional employment options.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree  required, Business degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of work experience, some experience working with individuals with Autism preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team player, ability to work flexible hours.
  • Driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Sales and Marketing experience is preferred
  • CPR, First Aid certification and CORI will be required.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00, with flexibility to work alternate hours depending on events and employers. Must be able to work early mornings and late evenings when needed.
