BACC Black Tie Gala Benefit a Success

On Saturday, January 26th, the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) held their 3rd annual Black Tie Gala at Café Escadrille to benefit the eight local charitable organizations that make up the BACC’s Charitable Partnership Program. The BACC formed this program to serve as a conduit between area businesses and the charitable organizations that support the Burlington community. The program strives to raise awareness and funds to better Burlington and the surrounding communities. The Charitable Partnership consists of the following organizations: Nashoba Learning Group, Neurofibromatosis Northeast, HELPIS, Burlington Youth & Family Services, Skate for the 22 Foundation, Burlington Womenade, Burlington Education Foundation, and the UDT-SEAL Association.

Over the past three years, the BACC Charitable Partnership Program has contributed more than $100,000 to worthy recipients. BACC Co-Chair Sonia Rollins, is especially proud of this achievement. “The milestone has confirmed for me and the entire Board what we have always known. Our members continue not only to do good business but also to support those nonprofits who are doing great work every day. We are proud and grateful for their generosity and continuous support.”

The Herb Chambers Companies has been the title sponsor of the evening since the event’s inception in 2017. CEO Alan McLaren stressed the importance of corporate involvement in community initiatives, explaining, “having four businesses in Burlington, we feel a real responsibility to give back. It is such an important role of a successful business, and a role that we take very seriously, so we have a strong affinity towards what the BACC is doing with this event and we’re proud to be here.”

Emily Wheet of Nashoba Learning Group expressed the gratitude that her organization has for this event. “The BACC Charitable Foundation goes above and beyond for its local non-profits, supporting our efforts, connecting us with opportunities, and raising funds to further our missions. NLG could not be more honored to be part of such a magical evening!”
