Meet the Ambassadors: Audrey Kuvshinikov

BACC Ambassadors are Chamber Members selected for their ability to inform, promote and encourage meaningful participation in Chamber programs.

How long have you been in your current career? – Describe any promotions, and/or circumstances that led you to this career.
 I accidentally fell into the Hospitality industry. I landed a position as an Event Planner for a larger hotel & conference center in Buffalo about six years ago. Within the year, I was promoted to a Catering Sales Manager position in which I booked and serviced multi-day conferences, galas, and social functions. I loved learning every element of the hotel industry and when my management company acquired a new hotel, they offered me the position to be the Director of Sales. I inquired if an operations position was available instead in which they offered me the role of Assistant General Manager. I was able to experience hotel operations for two years before my fiancé and I had the opportunity to relocate to Massachusetts in which I returned to what I loved to do the most: social catering. Having the operations experience has really helped in my role in sales; the knowledge allows me to better serve my clients because I can pre-plan a lot of the work or extra steps to help my hotel team execute a flawless event for our guests.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of your position?
 I love working with people and helping their vision for their event become reality. Whether it’s a wedding, class reunion, birthday party, or baby shower, I love being able to create an experience for my clients. These are special events that should have special memories, and I try to do everything I can to make sure it’s everything my clients expect and more!
How long have you been a BACC member?
 Since the Spring of 2017.
What led you to be involved with the Chamber?
 The Burlington Area Chamber is one of my favorite chambers: it offers so many events throughout the month and it’s a supporting community. I still remember my first Burlington Area Chamber event: Rick welcomed me at registration and quickly introduced me to members to start networking. Everyone was (and is!) very friendly and welcoming. The BACC also hosts so many networking events throughout the month and really does a fantastic job of keeping the members in the loop for special events or grand openings for all of the businesses. It’s been a wonderful way to meet new people, establish friendships, and work with the community – I always look forward to the events and seeing familiar faces!
