Oak Furnitureland Names Room to Dream Foundation as First US Charity Partner
New to the Boston-area, leading UK furniture retailer will assist with giving young patients room makeovers for health and healing
 
 
London, UK, March 7, 2019 Oak Furnitureland, the UK’s largest retailer of solid hardwood furniture, today announced it has selected the Room to Dream Foundation, an organization that creates healing environments for children and adolescents facing debilitating illnesses, as its first ever US charity partner. “Our team began the search for a local charity partner as soon as we decided to make the Boston area our first U.S. home,” said Alex Fisher, CEO of Oak Furnitureland. “Room to Dream does such inspiring, important work, and we are proud to partner with them.”
 
As part of the planned makeover projects, Oak Furnitureland will help Room to Dream volunteer teams recreate bedrooms for six chronically ill children and their siblings in the greater Boston area. The Foundation’s goal is to create healthy, healing spaces for children who are sick and often homebound for long periods of time.
 
“A renovated bedroom helps children to be more independent and feel more comfortable in their space, and it can give them something positive to focus on during what are often difficult treatments, “ said Stefan Nathanson, Room to Dream president.
