Neurofibromatosis Northeast (NFNE) is searching for a talented full-time Manager of Fundraising to join our growing team. The position is an exciting, full-time opportunity for someone with at least 1-3 years of experience in fundraising, events, and communications.
Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), this position is responsible for fundraising and event management and fundraising-related special projects. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of events and support growth year-over-year. The Manager of Fundraising will raise funds for and build awareness of NF and allied disorders.
Main Responsibilities

  • Support and partner with the ED and the Director of Fundraising and Innovation on growing a portfolio of regional events, including our annual Fall Golf Classic Tournament and the Steps2Cure walks
  • Contribute to stewardship activities aimed at cultivating deeper ties and retention with donors
  • Assist in expanding NFNE's donor base/pipeline and work closely with other NFNE team members to help secure funding for ongoing initiatives
Special Events
  • Responsible for all details within each assigned event and preserving the organization's brand and integrity
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with event participants, sponsors, top fundraisers, donors, leadership, volunteers, and other community partners
  • Attend event planning meetings, record, and share meeting minutes and action items
  • Approach businesses for donations of food, prizes, giveaways for use at events
  • Maintain inventory of prizes for events
  • Act as liaison between NF and vendors for all events
  • Serve as point person (or assist point person) at the event
  • Provide event support to planning committees as needed
  • Assist with maintaining relationships with all sponsors
  • Assis with follow up for unpaid donations from events
  • Assist with appeals and other development activity as requested
  • Produce acknowledgment and thank you letters to appropriate entities
  • Work with NFNE team to coordinate raffle solicitation and donor recognition 
  • Identify volunteer needs to ensure their success
  • Complete other projects and related duties as assigned
  • Must occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds in preparation for special events
  • Some nights and weekends are required for volunteer meetings and to manage and attend events
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-3 plus years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising; Fundraising event experience is a plus
  • Ability to travel throughout the Northeast region and New England as needed
  • Prior "small shop" and special event experience is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will take the initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time
  • High energy and passion for NFNE's mission is essential
