BACC Hosts Annual Golf Tournament

The Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) held their 9th annual Golf Tournament, Presented by Herb Chambers of Burlington at the stunning Andover Country Club on Monday, May 7th. From the moment golfers arrived, they were treated to the top-notch Andover Country Club experience and hospitality.  The morning began with breakfast, driving range access, swag bags and gifts. Guests enjoyed the beautiful weather and a round of golf on the meticulously manicured course. Golfers competed for prizes including both $25,000 and $10,000 hole-in-ones, longest drives and closest to the pin challenges. The gathering was treated to a delicious barbeque lunch during the awards and raffle presentation.  The team from Harrington Buck P.C. took home the coveted BACC Championship cup for low score of the day.

A portion of the tournament proceeds were donated to the Burlington-based, Skate for the 22 Foundation. They are a veterans organization raising public awareness of the veteran suicide rate (an average of 22 individuals per day). The veteran-run foundation uses hockey, at no cost to veterans, to provide them with a supportive team environment. They also provide suicide awareness and prevention training and financial aid to families of veterans who have committed suicide. Throughout the day, golfers learned about the foundation and donated to the cause. As a result of their generosity, the BACC was able to make a sizeable donation to the organization.

We would like to thank all our sponsors, participants and volunteers for making this the most successful BACC golf tournament yet! This event was a true representation of the Burlington Area business community’s efforts to come together in support of a life-changing cause and the programs of the Chamber. Events like this would not be possible without the financial support of local businesses and their employees who generously volunteer their time. We are extremely fortunate to be surrounded by such benevolent companies, and we are sincerely grateful for their continued support.
