Women in Business Luncheon
Want to learn more about state government? Curious about a Senator's role in office?
You're invited to join us for a conversation with our newly elected state Senator Cindy Friedman. Hear about her legislative priorities, the importance of state and local government and her experience as the 41st elected female state senator in Massachusetts history.
Cindy F. Friedman has been a member of the Massachusetts Senate since July of 2017. She represents five communities in the 4th Middlesex District, including Arlington, Billerica, Burlington, Woburn, and parts of Lexington. Her legislative agenda will focus on issues including workers’ rights and wages, greater funding for local schools and governments, improved access to transportation, and better treatment for those suffering from mental illnesses or substance use disorders.
Among her positions held in the Legislature are: Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Service, member of the Joint Committees on Labor and Workforce Development and Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery, and a member of the Women Legislators Caucus. Friedman has also served nearly a decade as Chief of Staff to the late Senator Ken Donnelly.
Senator Friedman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in education from Roger Williams University, and a Master’s Degree in special education from Lesley University. She lives in Arlington, Massachusetts with her husband of 35 years, John Page.
