BACC Charitable Foundation

Website: https://burlingtonchamberofcommerce.org/charitable-foundation/

The Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for profit organization, was formed in 2013 to expand upon the long-held charitable interests of the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC). The Foundation was established to build on the Chamber’s support for charitable and civic causes in Burlington and surrounding communities.

In particular, The Foundation is committed to social justice initiatives and in supporting programs that provide education and resources to local children and families.

The BACC Charitable Partnership Program is an arm of the BACC’s Charitable Foundation. The BACC formed this program to serve as a conduit between area businesses and the charitable organizations that support the Burlington community. The program strives to raise awareness and funds to better Burlington and the surrounding communities. Each year, the BACC hosts a Black Tie Gala Benefit to celebrate the work of these organizations and recognize their service to our communities.

The event also highlights the local businesses that generously support the needs of our partners. All proceeds from the Black Tie Gala Benefit are donated to the program partners.

Burlington, MA Womenade was started in 2011.  Inspired by a Bedford Womenade event, the Burlington “chapter” was created as a way for women in the Burlington community to work together in order to support local families in crisis as well as to network and socialize with each other.

HELPIS, Inc.

Website: https://www.helpis.org/

HELPIS Help Me Help Someone, Inc. (HMHS) is a social network for kind and charitable deeds. It connects people in need with people who want to help. Right now in the world there are so many people in need, but there are also so many people who would love to help, but who don’t know how to make their contributions meaningful. Giving money is not something that everyone feels comfortable doing, especially when one can’t always be sure that funds are delivered where they are most needed.

Skate for the 22 Foundation
Website: https://skateforthe22.org/

22 Veterans of the U.S. military lose the battle at home every day, and take their own lives. They leave loved ones, family and friends behind. Whatever the number may be… one is too many. The “Skate For The 22” Foundation wants to raise public awareness in an effort to end this crisis and provide a non-government support program to veterans. This Foundation was created by veterans to support fellow veterans and their families and provide financial assistance to the families touched by veteran suicide. We use hockey, at no cost to the veterans, to get them back in a supportive, team environment.

The Mama Bear Effect Inc

Websitehttps://themamabeareffect.org/

The Mama Bear Effect is a nonprofit organization changing the way people think, talk, and respond to child sexual abuse.

The Mama Bear Effect® was established in 2013 in response to the perceived need for down-to-earth awareness and prevention education that was not only accessible but inspiring. Child sexual abuse is not necessarily an epidemic because abusers are so effective at perpetrating, but because the taboo, and consequent discomfort and fear, hold protective adults back from being aware, effectively empowering children, and responding appropriately.

Our down-to-earth educational resources help families and communities all over the world Rock the Talk® to raise awareness and prevent child sexual abuse. From parents and caregivers to advocates and prevention-focused organizations, we offer a range of free downloads, materials, pediatric resources, and research to help spark conversations and change the culture of sexual abuse, from a mindset of silence and shame to courage and compassion.
