Massachusetts Business Front Door Provides Valuable Resources for Local Businesses
October 09, 2025
The BACC's Government Affairs Committee recently met with the Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD) for a Q&A on the Massachusetts Business Font Door program. MOBD representatives detailed the benefits to the committee, many of which could help new startups, existing businesses, and organizations looking to relocate to Massachusetts.
Key takeaways from the Business Front Door program are:
- A One-stop hub for resources: Businesses can access a centralized portal to find state resources such as grants, incentives, loans, regulatory information, and technical assistance, reducing the time and effort in figuring out which program or agency to contact.
- Dedicated point of contact (“Navigator”): Every business that uses BFD is assigned a Team MA Navigator who acts as a single, consistent person to assist with questions — like which programs fit them best, helping with linking to agencies, etc.
- Tailored guidance & relevance: Businesses receive guidance specific to their situation: industry, business stage, location, etc. The system helps flag which state resources are most relevant to that business.
- Access to financial support & incentive programs: Through the program, businesses can more easily apply to state incentive programs (tax credits, grants, etc.), which might include things like the Economic Development Incentive Program (EDIP) among others.
