MassHire Seeking Local Small Business Owners for New Youth Entrepreneurship Program

MassHire Metro North Workforce Board, a non-profit dedicated to helping develop the workforce and small business economy in our region, is currently recruiting for an entrepreneurship program for out-of-school youth ages 16-24, hosted in Malden, MA. To make it a success, they're looking for small business owners who would be willing to mentor students throughout the 14-week program (February 10 - May 14, 2026). 

 

Mentor Opportunity Details:

  • When: February 10 – May 14, 2026
  • Time Commitment:
    • Biweekly virtual check-ins (6 total, up to 1 hour each)
    • One job shadowing experience (between 4 hours to 5 days, April 6-17)
    • Attend first and last session in Malden, MA (February 10 & May 14)
  • Compensation: $1,200 (three installments)


What Mentors Will Do:

  • Guide a youth entrepreneur through business plan development
  • Share real-world business experience and entrepreneurial insights
  • Complete employability skills training covering business writing, professional communication, networking, and time management (assignments provided)
  • Host a meaningful job shadowing experience at their business
  • Provide biweekly progress updates
