Northeastern University Introduces PathmakerBio Training Program in Burlington
Introducing the PathmakerBio Program
PathmakerBio is a FREE 8-week biomanufacturing training program designed to equip participants with essential skills needed to enter the thriving biotech industry. The program is part of a Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) initiative to expand access to careers in biotech for individuals across the state — including those without prior science experience.
Northeastern University was awarded a grant from the MLSC to develop the PathmakerBio training program. Bringing leaders in academia and the biotech industry together, PathmakerBio will provide hands-on training to increase access for more people to pursue careers in the region’s high-demand life sciences industry.
Program Details
Cohort 3: Course 1B
Biomanufacturing of Cell and Gene Therapies
April 15 – June 19, 2025
Participants will learn fundamentals of the development and manufacturing of cell and gene therapies. This 8-week program consists of two in-person classes per week and one remote class per week.
Location: Northeastern University’s Biopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory (BATL) in Burlington
Remote – Wed, 9AM – 1PM
In-Person – Tues and Thurs, 9am – 1pm

The PathmakerBio Program is open to:
- Massachusetts residents with a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a desire to break into the biotech industry
- Individuals from diverse academic backgrounds, including those with no prior science experience
