Northeastern University Partners with TransAction Associates & Middlesex 3 For Shuttle Service to Burlington

Northeastern University is excited to introduce a new shuttle service that connects co-op students from their Boston campus to Burlington’s dynamic business community. This initiative, developed in partnership with Transaction Associates and the Middlesex 3 Coalition, aims to eliminate transportation barriers and open the door for local businesses to access top-tier talent through Northeastern’s renowned co-op program.

The cost of the shuttle is supported by a grant secured by Representative Ken Gordon, which pays for about one-third of the cost. The grant was awarded to the Middlesex 3 Coalition, which contracted with TransAction Associates to provide transportation for Northeastern University. The shuttle program is looking for additional business partners to join and take advantage of the opportunity to access potential employees through Northeastern's Co-op program. The current cost to students is $2.50 per ride.

Each year, over 150 co-op students contribute their skills to Burlington-based organizations, and with your support, that number can continue to rise. Leading companies such as Beth Israel Lahey Health, Charles River, Desktop Metal, Envision Energy, Keurig, Oracle, State Street Corporation and Viken Detection are already benefiting from this program.

Northeastern’s Cooperative Education Program, one of the nation’s oldest, offers a unique blend of full-time work experience and academic learning. Their six-month, full-time co-op opportunities are aligned with industry needs and allow students to become fully integrated into your business and culture. Thanks to our emphasis on real-world engagement and career readiness, our students are prepared to make an immediate impact from day one.
