From The Broad Institute:
"Broad’s expansion to Burlington, Massachusetts is official! We built the new home for our Genomics Platform and Broad Clinical Labs from the ground up, and this week we cut the ribbon! For the past 20 years, Broad Institute has called Kendall Square home, and while that remains unchanged, we’re excited to open this highly-advanced facility in Burlington.

For the past 20 years, Broad Institute has called Kendall Square home, and while that remains unchanged, we’re excited to open this highly-advanced facility in Burlington.
We were thrilled to have Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao, Representative Ken Gordon, Burlington Town Administrator Paul Sagarino and many others from across the Commonwealth on hand for the opening ceremony. It was a privilege to have you celebrate this milestone with us, and we are appreciative of your support!
Broad’s Genomics Platform has led the field for more than 20 years. As one of the world’s largest producers of human genomic data, we provide critical insights into the genomic basis of diseases, enabling our understanding and treatment of complex conditions. Our teams contribute to landmark projects such as the Human Genome Project and the Cancer Genome Atlas, and building COVID-19 testing capabilities for K-12 schools across Massachusetts and institutions of higher education across the northeast United States.
Our goal is to understand why diseases happen, and develop therapies that target these underlying causes. This new facility will significantly enhance our sequencing capabilities and capacity, enabling us to deepen our contributions to advancing science and improving human health.
“What’s magical about Massachusetts is that when we work together as a team, we’re unstoppable,” said Secretary Hao.
“We’re number one in education. We’re number one in innovation,” said Governor Healey. “We’ve got so much going for us.”
We agree! We are proud to be located in Massachusetts, proud to be opening up our new site in Burlington, and proud to be Broadies!"
