TransAction Associates and Middlesex 3 TMA Announce Additional Shuttle Service to Burlington

Expanding Access: Northeastern Co-op Shuttle Adds Second Route to Burlington & Bedford

The Middlesex 3 Transportation Management Association (M3TMA) is proud to announce the expansion of its Northeastern Co-op Shuttle service connecting Boston with key employment locations in Burlington and Bedford. What began as a pilot project in July 2024 with a single 14-passenger shuttle has grown into a thriving commuter solution, thanks to strong demand, smart technology, and supportive partnerships.

On April 1, 2025, M3TMA launched a second 14-passenger shuttle, effectively doubling daily capacity to 28 students. The two shuttles now operate consecutively, serving more stops in less time and improving flexibility for student riders.

The shuttles depart once each morning from Northeastern’s Marino Center in Boston to Burlington and Bedford, and return in the afternoon. This streamlined, round-trip service has increased efficiency, reduced wait times, and made it easier for students to access valuable workplace experiences outside of Boston.

The Co-op Shuttle currently makes stops at Millipore Sigma, Charles River Consulting, Lantheus, Keurig/Dr. Pepper, Alloy Enterprises, and Viken Detection. These locations were selected based on the number Co-op student placements. As the program continues to grow, additional stops can be added in response to student needs and employer participation. M3TMA encourages companies interested in joining the shuttle network to reach out and explore partnership opportunities.
