AYS (At Your Service) Runner (4pm to 10pm)
The AYS (At Your Service) Runner is a key support role in guest service operations, providing exceptional service by managing calls and requests efficiently and delivering items directly to guest rooms. The ideal candidate has an energetic, positive attitude and enjoys assisting guests by coordinating room service, handling bellman tasks, and fulfilling other delivery requests.
Responsibilities:
Telephone Operator Duties:
Assists with answering all internal and external calls promptly with a welcoming and upbeat tone.
Address guest requests (room service orders, housekeeping, maintenance) and forward to appropriate departments.
Provide accurate information about hotel services and local attractions.
Record guest requests and ensure follow-up to confirm tasks are completed.
Runner/Room Service Support:
Assist in delivering room service orders, amenities, and other guest requests to guest rooms promptly and courteously.
Ensure orders and deliveries are accurate and presented in a professional manner.
Coordinate with kitchen staff to prioritize deliveries based on guest needs.
Bellman Support:
Helps assist transporting luggage to and from guest rooms.
Help with greeting guests at the entrance and providing information or directions.
Provide prompt and courteous service during guest check-ins and check-outs.
Miscellaneous Deliveries and Guest Services:
Deliver extra amenities such as towels, pillows, toiletries, etc., based on guest requests.
Handle simple guest requests such as replacing room keys, delivering packages, or handling mail.
Provide an upbeat and friendly attitude with all guest interactions, ensuring a memorable experience.
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications:
Customer Service Skills: Strong verbal communication, problem-solving, and a friendly demeanor when dealing with guests.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deliveries or requests simultaneously.
Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in all tasks such as delivering room service or amenities.
Team Player: Works well with other departments like housekeeping, bell service, and room service teams.
Physical Fitness: Ability to move quickly through the hotel and carry guest items when needed.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Requires long periods of standing and walking.
